The Wedding Floral Intensive - February 2027
THE WEDDING FLORAL INTENSIVE
A 3 Day Hands-On Experience in Wedding Floristry
Welcome to the world of Wedding Floristry!
The Wedding Floral Intensive is a hands-on 3 day experience designed for florists ready to take their skills into the world of weddings and events.
Across three big days, we’ll explore the creative and practical sides of wedding floristry, from bridal bouquets and personal flowers, through to ceremony scenes, large-scale installations and reception florals.
You’ll learn how to approach a wedding from start to finish, including design concepts, colour palettes, working with client mood boards, flower selection, mechanics, preparation, ordering, pricing and the logistics that sit behind creating beautiful wedding flowers.
This isn’t just about learning how to make beautiful flowers. It’s about understanding how to think, design and work as a wedding florist.
LEARN FROM 22 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Under the guidance of Elise, Owner and Head Florist at Elyssium Blooms and founder of The Bloom School, you’ll learn from over two decades of hands-on industry experience and hundreds of weddings.
Elise shares the knowledge, lessons and practical experience that come from years of working in the wedding and events industry - from the beautiful creative moments through to the behind-the-scenes details that make a wedding run smoothly.
She is an open book throughout the three days, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, pick her brain and gain an honest insight into the real world of wedding floristry.
Our classes are kept small and intimate, allowing for plenty of hands-on learning, personalised guidance and 1:1 time with Elise throughout the course.
THREE DAYS. ONE COMPLETE WEDDING FLORAL EXPERIENCE.
DAY 1 - BRIDAL PARTY & PERSONAL FLOWERS
Evergreen Studio
We’ll kick things off with the flowers closest to the couple - bridal bouquets, buttonholes and other personal flowers.
You’ll learn everything from flower preparation, conditioning and hydration through to design, mechanics and safe packaging for delivery. We’ll also dive into the business side of wedding floristry, including client communication, bookings and the practical considerations that happen behind the scenes.
DAY 2 - CEREMONY FLOWERS & LARGE-SCALE DESIGN
Wynmere Estate + Evergreen Studio
Day 2 takes us to the beautiful Wynmere Estate on Mt Tamborine, where we’ll spend the morning creating epic ceremony florals in this stunning luxury setting.
Working collaboratively, we’ll create a large-scale ceremony design together, giving you the opportunity to experience the process of bringing a larger floral installation to life. We’ll also explore the mechanics, materials and techniques behind designs such as floral towers, archways, aisle flowers and statement pieces, as well as the importance of sketching and planning your design before you begin.
In the second half of the day, we’ll head back down the mountain to Evergreen Studio and turn our attention to dramatic overhead installations and large-scale designs that are guaranteed to make an impact.
We’ll explore design concepts, mechanics and materials, giving you a deeper understanding of how to approach larger-scale floral work with confidence.
DAY 3 - RECEPTION FLOWERS & TABLESCAPES
Evergreen Studio
Our final day is all about bringing the wedding story together.
Each student will design a romantic garden-style arrangement for a wedding reception before we come together to create a styled tablescape that mimics a real wedding reception.
We’ll explore texture, colour, flower combinations and cohesive design principles, while also diving into the practical side of wedding work through our workbook sessions, covering pricing, ordering and more.
To finish the three days, we’ll gather around our styled table for a beautiful afternoon tea - a chance to celebrate everything you’ve created, reflect on the experience and enjoy some time together.
AN ABUNDANCE OF FLOWERS - ALL INCLUDED
We believe the best way to learn is to get your hands into the flowers.
Throughout the intensive, you’ll work with an abundance of premium, high-quality fresh flowers, with all flowers included in your course investment.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with a beautiful variety of blooms, textures and seasonal product across the three days.
You won’t be working with a small bunch of flowers at a time. You’ll experience working with flowers on a larger scale, with an abundance of premium product across a variety of wedding designs.
All flowers, floral materials and mechanics required for the course are included.
